*VERY LONG POST * On Thursday, December 16th, Albright Realty were supposed to send maintenance to come and fix a major leak in my home. Any time we would try to use the bathtub or shower, there would be a major leak down into the kitchen. (Mind you, I had to put in about 4 requests to get this taken care of.) 4 Caucasian men came to my home on 12/16/21 saying Albright had sent them to check and repair the leak.

I am a 5'3 woman and it was just my dog (who's small) and myself here, so we were upstairs for the most part because 1. he gets excited around a lot of people and I didn't want him to get in the way or get hurt and 2. again, I was here alone with 4 large, grown men, so I didn't really feel that comfortable just being down there (and they made a mess, had stuff all over my couch, and there was nowhere to sit).

After a while, I realized my dog was getting hot and went downstairs to get his water bowl. As I'm walking down the steps, I notice the tissue paper in the gift bag with my mother's Christmas present looks like it's missing, so I check the present and it's still there unopened with the tissue stuffed at the bottom of the bag. I then look around and noticed a Christmas gift was missing and nowhere around where it should be.

I texter my bf and asked him if he had moved it before he left for work and he said he hadn't and it was in the same spot, which is also where his box of jewelry and other sentimental things were. He asked me to check his box for the diamond earrings his mother had passed down to him (given to her by his father, who passed away last year), and they were missing as well.

To make an already long story a little shorter: the maintenance men had stolen the present, the earrings, a gold plated bracelet, about $10 in cash, 2 debt and one credit card, and tried to steal some of my medication as well. We got the gift and medication back, but that's it. We later found out some of the people sent to work in our home are KNOWN drug addicts, and I'm not talking about marijuana!

The police were called. Not to mention, the leak still didn't get fixed until the next day. And the hole in my kitchen ceiling where they took my cabinets down to get to leak wasn't fixed until 12/22/21 and my kitchen was in disarray until they put my cabinets back up, which they did a shoddy job of and didn't clean after themselves.

I had to keep asking about when someone would come to fix the hole and put the cabinets up; so, to add insult to injury, Albright Realty sent one of the same men who was here during the 12/16 incident BACK on 12/21 (with no notice to me) to fix the hole and put the cabinet back up. I assume because he was in the hospital after getting jumped at Ace Hardware (yeah, I know) by the time the missing items were noticed.

But we still don't know what he may or may not know or be involved in regarding the theft. However, he didn't stay long because, as I told the property manager before they sent someone back out, the old cabinet was no longer any good and he said he needed to find a new one and left.with the hole still in my ceiling. The carpenter, Jessie Faile, who was part of the maintenance crew, also tried to insinuate my boyfriend and I stole some of his tools, as if WE were not the victims of theft.

This has just all been so traumatic and I've been nervous and anxious since. I don't even think I've included EVERYTHING, but my mind is just still whirling. One of the worst experiences of my life.

Albright Realty has recently sent one of their maintenance guys to replace a mesh screen downstairs. The order was fulfilled quickly and they respected my request not to enter the property because I would be on an important work call. The mesh screen was outdoors. The maintenance guy came by and quietly and quickly replaced it. When he left he called me to make sure I knew the screen was replaced and left me a voicemail.

This one small positive gesture is why I would rent from Albright Realty. The speed of taking care of the property and the personal touch of letting you know when it is done. Thank you to the office for processing the request and to the guys out in the field who take care of the properties.

The worst possible people to rent from. Extremely rude staff except for Lynn that works in the office. We have lived in one of their rentals for close to 6 months and have had nothing but problems. From having no electricity in half of the house for over a week leaving us without ac in the middle of summer to the most recent one being left without any form of heat during a frost front.

Come to find out the unit is broken and there is a carbon monoxide leak level 8 which is extremely deadly. Not only do we have a one year old in the home but I am also 8 months pregnant. We were told it would be fixed by the end of the week and hold and behold the week is over and we have yet to hear from them. When we asked for a temporary heater to make it through the week the response we received was "wear an extra sweater" how extremely pathetic.

Now we have to go through the weekend without heat. My number one piece of advice is to STAY AWAY if you want to be anywhere that's worth living. Can't want until our lease is up so we can move out!
