This review is for Jodi Nath, for an apartment rental. I'm using my wife's Yelp that's how bad this service was that I had to share desperately. At first she seemed professional, we had a full conversation where she asked me a few questions of what I do, income, credit score etc. She asked me for my name several times and in the end still got my name wrong which would of been fine if she wasn't discriminating.

This real estate agent's approach wasn't welcoming or friendly and I felt discriminated upon because of the way she was staring at me and I felt she looked for any reason to not give me an application. I'm a Hispanic male with a good career. I told her my full name etc. several times and in the end she was like goodbye Rakim. I wanted to put my input so anyone else doesn't encounter such behavior, word of advice don't judge people based on appearance.

I never seen that type of discrimination considering I have family in that field of work. As a real estate agent if your going to be in a such a field especially one in New York where it's so diverse it does not pay to be selective. Remember that potential clients are what brings income into your checks. Thank you.

Management at 42 Pine Street in Yonkers is very POOR. Tashia Champagne does not respond to phone calls or emails. Had to call the inspector and he stated the same. These owned co-ops are falling apart and it's apalling how nothing is done about it. Mice, roaches, flooding. No pool for years YET it's included in the maintenance fee. They DEFINITELY need new management because the quality of living here has downgraded drastically.

Over the past 3 years, I have had the pleasure of working with Avery Feldman of AMS, a Division of Argo Management. In his management of our building's 37 units, Avery has always demonstrated professionalism, reliability, competency, and a sheer depth of knowledge regarding property management. In addition, Avery' s communication skills are superb.

He listens to the needs of the board and has been extremely responsive to our needs. I am grateful for his ready communication and his innate ability to build relationships with contractors and various vendors that the building has utilized. This allows for speedy addressing of issues and an ability to negotiate to keep our costs at a minimum. I, also, appreciate his honesty, straight forward manner and ability to engage in difficult conversations when necessary. Avery is truly an asset to AMS and to our building! Maxine P.

I felt compelled to look up Jodi Nath from argo after I reached out to her on Streeteasy to inquire about multiple apartments for rent. Every time that I would inquire about touring one of the apartments, she would simply respond that there are "several prospective tenants" and to inquire on a further date. I already found it to be poor service as technically it is your job to reach out to me, but nonetheless I would follow up on the day that she told me to and I would receive the exact same message again.

On one occasion, I had reached out to her on a Saturday and was told to reach out to her on Tuesday. When I emailed her on Tuesday, she had informed me that she had given a tour to someone on Monday and that they were going to rent the apartment. It became very apparent that she never has any intention of reaching out to me, inquiring about my income, job, credit, etc.

She never tries to schedule any tour with me for any of the properties. Which is frustrating as I have a great paying career, really great credit I and work in Forest Hills which is where the listed properties were located. I couldn't help but wonder if this was discrimination based on my last name which is a hispanic name. After coming on to yelp and seeing other complaints of her obvious discrimination towards others, I am not surprised at all. Extremely poor service.

Beautiful area, howebit it is unfortunate how these building are unkept and poorly constructed. I will say though, initially I was happy to have found an apartment for the price I'm paying in Kew Gardens/Briarwood. My realtor Stephany was phenomenal, but in true business fashion, she didn't tell me the lack of cleanliness (mind you I asked) of this building and the noise you can hear from other apartments. Let's start with the lack of cleanliness: now these buildings are full of elderly folk.

And especially during these times, the idea is to keep everyone safe and the buildings clean. There are roaches everywhere, especially the basement. They're in the lobby on the walls, lobby floors, & elevator. It's sad. Before I enter the elevator, I look all around to make sure it's safe to open the elevator door and step in. Mark, the porter is very nice but its so sad because he's obligated to keep these buildings clean.

When I first moved in, there wasn't a door stopper outside the apartment door. I had to ask for one. Not quite sure how folk live in an apartment building with huge spaces under their door for rodents to enter. It is almost inevitable to keep them out of your apartment. There is a lot of maintenance that MUST go into ones apartment to keep it free from roaches, rodents, etc.

On to the noise: Now I've been in this apartment for one month to date, with the roaches AND the noise, I am READY TO GO! I can hear EVERY bit of banging, children screaming, running around. Meanwhile the noise is coming from the tenants beneath me. Smh! You ask yourself how right? Usually you hear noise from tenants above you, nope. This is different.

It took me 2 weeks to get in touch with Ms. Lascalzo (might be spelling her name wrong) the property manager. Though she seemed empathetic and understanding to my concerns, her solution was for me to put carpet down. exsqeezeme! I shall not. In addition to the rent I'm paying. If you know the construct of the apartments aren't the best, then management should explore carpeting every apartment to avoid complaints. Welp!

Sad to say, I'll be moving again in a years time. Update- Still no change in my previous review. The noise level remains the same. In my opinion, the building has gotten worse. Now, outside, along the path, as you walk into the building, you can smell animal feces. Tenants are allowing their dogs to release on the grass in front of the buildin

I lived in queens 10 years ago. Yet I still remember how horrible this company was. I moved from out of state, and even though I had arrived just a few hours before I could get the key to my apartment, I still was not given it. We had to wait, sitting there with all my items in the car before it was finally handed to us. Even then, all the people we spoke to were extremely rude and treated us sub-human.

During my rental period, the nastiness from staff continued. They were not helpful with any questions I had. The building itself that they managed was disgusting, which you don't notice till you're there a while. Appliances falling apart, cockroaches. By the way, nothing was done about these things. Needless to say, I was happy to be out of there and never looked back. Don't rent from this company if you can help it, they're loathsome people.

Neil Gevirtz has done a spectacular job of managing our building, not only in terms of maintenance and physical plant issues, but in his responsiveness. He is able to navigate the diverging personalities of the board and shareholders, which is not a easy task in NYC.

I lived at Argo in Forest Hills for 5 years. I just moved back in again after being away for a year. Both times, I've had the pleasure of working with Jodi Nath. She is professional, friendly, responsive and efficient. I love the community and the staff at Argo Forest Hills. Everyone is welcoming, friendly and helpful. The building is clean, has beautiful landscape, and gardening. Overall. I love living in Argo Forest Hills and highly recommend.

I have been living for 8 years in a building managed by Argo. Overall it has been a bad experience: the many building managers assigned to my building have not responded to emails, have conveyed inaccurate information and have caused delays which have been very costly. But Evelyn Rodriguez in the finance office has been a true exception to the rule: she has handled my requests quickly, in a highly professional and efficient manner. From my perspective, she is the saving grace at Argo.

Similar to other people's experiences, Jodi Nath was extremely rude and unprofessional. Any time we tried to explain anything to her she would cut us off and ask the question again before we even finished explaining. She was late to the showing. She was nasty over the phone and in person. We also asked questions over email to see if we qualified, and when we got to the showing she answered our questions and we did not qualify. Complete waste of time. If she would just respond to her emails we wouldn't have gone all the way over there. Stay away from this witch.

Linda Lepson is rude and unprofessional. She cancelled my appointment the day before because I didn't sign a Covid form on time. I understand this was my fault but her emails and text messages were rude. I prefer working with brokers who are professional and flexible and can understand that sometimes, things fall through the cracks. For the record, I did submit the forms the day before but she still refused to show the apartment. No flexibility at all.

I usually don't write reviews but this is too important and frustrating to stay silent. As I've grown frustrated with Argo I started searching for reviews of them and am not surprised the ratings here are so low. I live in one of their Kew Gardens rental apartments (The Builtmore - Hoover ave) for a few years now and my frustration has just ran over.

Once you sign your lease you realize they do nothing else. They said no animals when I was signing my lease yet people in the building has dogs and cats and this leads to the laundry machines carpeted with animal fur so bad I have to defer my laundry some days. Animal pee on the elevator floor at times as confirmed by another resident who said he witnessed it. Garbage and Recycle As much as I've asked the property manager (Annette Loscalzo - see below) to address people putting decaying food in the recycle bin which are in a compactor closet next to my door, she doesn't respond and takes no actions.

The super mentioned that I should speak to her and ask her to send out correspondence to residence but she fails her job. This is one of the reasons the compactor close has roaches falling out of the shoot and roaming all over the floor and walls in the closet. ROACHES: I've also repeatedly complained to Annette Loscalzo about the recent roach infestation in the building and she just ignores all request to address the recycle issue above or to take the infestation issue seriously.

The building has roaches running all over the walls, floors and all over the compactor closet. At nights especially, the minute you walk outside your door you find roaches walking on the walls, floors trying to get into your apartment under the door and in the elevator coming up from the basement where the garbage get deposited from the garbage shoot. I've been spraying insecticide at the bottom of my door once or twice a day to try and prevent them from entering.

This partially helps as they get incapacitated the minute they come under the door and get exposed to the poison. But no one should have to live like that. Additionally I'm so disgusted doing laundry as the laundry room is also filled with roaches running around as its next to the garbage processing room which is also overrun by roaches. The infestation has gotten really bad and I don't see any real action being taken by the property manager.

One of the supers' confirmed that the problem in my building has not only gotten out of control because of the lack of regular pest control services but that the other buildings they manage are going through the same infestation which has been spurred on due to the pandemic. COVID-19 There were a few signs sometime after the pandemic but it's only recently that they put up a sign telling residents to wear a mask in the common areas when they leave their apartment. I've had to exit the single elevator in the building before reaching my floor because residents try to get into the tiny elevator with me wearing no mask.

There is definitely a lack of serious concern and good and consistent communication with residents regarding COVID-19. Simply lack of good management by Argo and Annette. Lack of response to you or issue you report in the building. No attention to what actually goes on in the building to maintain any confidence with management. I see reviews here praising Argo and condemning our freedom to express our experiences and to provide an appropriate rating.

I think those people are Argo management and a more appropriate response would be to address the issues and avoid getting bad review! I won't even get into the class action lawsuit on illegal rent hikes, etc as there is a lot you can find online about Argo and their practices. Consumer deserve to know the truth so do your research and don't just listen to a rosy story. ANNETTE LOSCALZO - is the Sr.

Property Manager for the Builtmore in Kew Gardens and I think a few more properties. It is useless to address anything with her. As long as her luxury home is well maintained and Argo pays her she doesn't care about doing her job effectively or the quality of life of the residents living in the properties she manages and same can be said about Argo in general. https://www.argo.com/team-member/annette-loscalzo/ Also: GET OUT AND VOTE!

Argo has been a disappointment since day one. My husband and I had the misfortune of being the first people to buy and sell in our building after Argo took over as the management company. We expected a bit of the guinea pig treatment, but they were completely disorganized and gave us wrong information at every turn. They caused a ton of unnecessary stress and lost us thousands of dollars by delaying simple transactions.

When we thought Argo couldn't be more irresponsible, they have and continue to utterly fail our building during COVID. Compared to other management companies, they've given little to no info or guidance. It's their job to manage the building, and they consistently fail at it. At this point, they should be paying our board for doing their job. Firing these guys is the best decision our board could have ever made.

I had to read a few of these reviews to confirm what I thought, and I have confirmation. I can't speak for the whole Argo company but the management of the buildings in Briarwood is lackluster, at best. They have allowed the properties of buildings, adjacent to Arch Bishop Malloy, to become completely overrun by families of 4 to 6 in 1 bedroom apartments!

There is no rejection of applicants, anyone and everyone moves there, especially if they're down on their luck. They bring their terrible habits with them, unfortunately. This is the worst place I've ever lived and will never go it again- but I'm locked in a lease and am looking for a lawyer to help me get out. Here's why: I've made complaints about the noise of the many families who run down the single roomed apartments, the management promises to address and then they never do.

These properties are not considered worth anything so management does not care about any issues between tenants. Vagrants know this, so they exploit it, play loud music well into 3am in the morning, just being flagrant because they know no one will do anything. You call the management, they tell you to call the cops. You complain about kids fully running and playing in apartments above you, at 6am every morning, the management tells you to call the cops on the children.

I wish I was joking. Over-crowded, noisy, smells like drugs on every floor, neighbors are highly disrespectful, roaches every 2 months, neighbors destroy your apartment from theirs. this is that environment. It's not worth it, take your money and business elsewhere. These are time of Corona, do you really want to be stuck in apartments with these people who never take their kids outside so make them play in the apartments instead?

There is a minimum of 2 kids per apartment. Trust me, if you see a family of more than 4 in this area, they live in these apartments and they're only renting a 1 bedroom apartment. The place is ghetto. The reviews that are 5 star have never set foot the ghetto that is in Briarwood.

My fiance and I worked with Ron to find our current apartment on the UWS. We saw a listing on Street Easy and reached out, and Ron responded and scheduled a showing promptly. We loved this first apartment and ended up submitting an application, but another application was submitted just before ours. Ron was totally transparent with us throughout, and told us that there was another application coming in and we might not get that unit.

However Ron quickly helped us find another unit in the same building and we signed a lease! We really appreciated Ron's professionalism and transparency throughout the whole process. The only slightly annoying part of the application process was that Argo required us to submit certified checks for the first month, security, and broker fees before the application would even be considered. (They would have been returned if the application was rejected) I had never experienced this before, with previous rentals these big checks were only required after the application was accepted. So keep this in mind if you end up renting a unit with Argo!

I live in an Argo managed coop building and have had the unique honor of sitting on the coop board. It wasn't until I sat as VP of the board that I really saw and understood the hard work and commitment a property manager puts into keeping a building up to snuff. That not only includes dealing with residents' complaints & questions but also every-changing state and local codes and legal matters and just assisting in keeping the building financially stable. Tarshia Champagne, along with the Argo team, does all these things.

I am in constant awe of her work ethic, insight and ability to respond to each email and phone call so quickly. I know we are not the only building she manages but it certainly feels like we are!

First of all, if you are going to post fake reviews at least make it look real lol. All of them follow the exact same format. One of the entry literally have the copy and paste of part of the building bylaws. Now onto my complaint Currently the garage fan in the building is causing noises that is way over the city limit. (Which is an ongoing issue for ALMOST A YEAR) You can just check the 311 site and you will see a list of violations against them. I.e https://portal.311.nyc.gov/sr-details/?id=6cfc5d23-1fe9-e911-a843-000d3a17856a https://portal.311.nyc.gov/sr-details/?id=a7892da8-3e58-ea11-a811-000d3a8c996f Management is aware of the issue and told me they have a timer in place that would close the fan at around 8pm. (which is just a temporary fix at best) Not to my surprise(as management have lied to me many times in the past), the fan is still on after 8pm. (checked this at 4/09/2020 11:32pm) If you know the sound of the garage fan is in violation against city laws, why would you even keep it on.

You want to let people have sleepless night due to the sound and have people from government agencies to continue to write tickets against the building? (again, ongoing issue of almost a year) This makes zero sense. Why not fix the fan noise and then use it? They city is fining the building and it is the tenants that have their monthly bill increased to pay for the fine. Here is a video of the garage fan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BwM7LIt91c

Horrible company! They are rude and condescending! Their stories changed every time you talk to them. It is impossible to negotiate deal it has to be their way or no way. I am not sure if they are doing well on the real estate market but there is integrity in doing business and this company has none! I would rather take my business elsewhere. Do yourself a favor research prior conducting business with Argo Real Estate.
