Me and husband have been moved out of the Belmont Square Apartments (B214) for over two months. The property manager allowed us to break the lease as of June 18th this year due to safety concerns (we were threatened with our lives by known drug dealers) through verbal agreement and have paid the fees related to breaking the lease (we were given less than 60 days to move out).

When trying to get a hold of the property manager, we were hung up on and totally dismissed when asking for the breaking of the lease to be in writing or have our security deposit back, saying we had to wait 60 days or that she already sent it out in the mail. We are now being threatened and harassed by a debt collector by the name of Hunter Warfield, who claims to be their legal representation and demanding we pay the charges of about $500.00 in damages.

When looking further into this I have found that he is not legitimate but somehow has information that we gave to Belmont Square Apartments. When going to the office to try to resolve this, my husband was told the property manager was on emergency medical leave but told corporate over the phone that she would be back in a few hours. She was on the phone with the property manager when I tried to speak to her.

She then refused to tell me what was going on because only the property manager was allowed to say anything to us about the damages. I tried calling the office this afternoon, was hung up on and was rudely spoken too by the same receptionist. As I understand by speaking to previous employees, her "sudden disappearance" and having the receptionist lie to tenants and corporate is a normal occurrence.

I want to know what damages they are speaking of and why they refuse to answer my questions. I knownforba fact there are no such damages and we cleaned the apartment to their standard played out in the lease. And seeing as we did not get the full 60 days to clear the apartment and that our live were constantly being endangered by simply being there, we do not owe you this mysterious $500.00.
