Not very professional. I applied for an apartment, got a call a few days later saying I was denied. No biggie, on to the next. Then not even 4 hours later, they attempted to pull the $500 dollar deposit from my account 2 separate times, after saying I was denied. And then sent an email saying I was approved. I attempted to call and email the property manager for clarification, and attempted to call the management company (Byron Reed) with no response.

I am happy I moved the money from this account, because they probably would've taken the $500 and never got back to me. Save your time/money and work with a company that communicates effectively with accurate information.

My washer and dryer have flooded twice within a week, the managers at this property are incompetent. When maintanence came into my apartment to fix the washer, they threw away my step dads memorial on the fridge. The tenant portal online only works half the time and I've had to pay late fees due to it not working. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone and would suggest avoiding Byron reed in general.

Look somewhere else. The duplexes on Western Avenue are very small. The price is too high for the lack of contact with the landlord, and the place is not friendly for families with children. The garages are shared with the fellow tenant and when the fellow tenant has a gas leak, you cannot get ahold of anyone in the office to inform them of the possible dangers. Tenants also have a habit of using someone elses trash container to avoid filling their own. Just trash and best to find something else. I would rather put up with gun fire everyday then live here again.

I've call them about all kinds of problems Mrs. or Ms. Smith has never returned a phone call in all the time I lived there. They take the money on the first, but never help any one out. You can not change stupid people when they are there for a paycheck. I call and get an answer machine at 10:30 in the morning, but the machine said they open at 9:00 a.m.

I have never had the experiences that I have had here. Wow, talk about over priced living. You better hope you never have an issue with any type of maintenance, you'll have to make all repairs yourself at your own cost. The place is definitely NOT kid friendly. Neither are the nosey 'Karens' that will turn you in with false information just because they don't like you.

I'd also like to mention the units are completely outdated, small and give you the feeling and appearance of an institution. An institution with hideous color palettes. Believe the low review scores and just stay away, keep searching because at these prices you CAN find far better living conditions.

Beverly Hills apts on Harney off 78th st. The only good is the maintenance guy and their is only one, takes a while to get anything done. The management will argue with you about the simplest complaint. They dont answer emails. the so-called main manager is never in. sounds like avoidance to me. The resident manager will interrupt and talk over you and doesnt do anything. Only here a short time and already to move!

When your apartment unit smells like a gas leak for over 9 hours but the property manager AND Owners don't seem to care. I'm never renting from this company ever again, not to mention they pick on my unit constantly for "driving like nascar" in their pot hole filled parking lot that's always filled with Oreo crumbs every 3 years, like I'd want to mess my suspension up on their terrible parking lots they never take care of. Their property manager at Gaslight never takes our concerns seriously because we are people of color so we have to get our neighbors to relay messages as their own

This is apartment 217 of La Seville apartments. This picture was taken before this apartment was cleaned. If you ask anyone about BEDBUGz. When bedbugs get on the ceiling of a place, its because they have been there for a long long time. 5 other apartments had been affected by this. 317 moved out having to TRASH all her belonging. I helped her son with my dad carry thing to the dumpster after cleaning 217.

My mom was there to clean we could not believe this. I have many pictures of this place and how disgusting it is. Glad we have a place to voice our opinion. BE SMART FOLKS talk to the neighbors before you sign a lease.

Horribe experience with rental management. I was diagnosed with cancer and wanted to pay my rent 8 months in advance so I would be covered during my recovery. I wrote 8 individual checks for 8 months rent and received 8 receipts for rent paid in full. $875 x 8months = $7,000. Fast forward 2 months and I get a notice saying the rent was going to increase from $875 to $1,025 (a 17.14% spike), and I was startled at the amount, but knew I would be okay for the next 8 months since I paid in full, in advance.

Fast forward another two months when Byron Reed sends a notice saying that I was late in my rent. I knew I wasn't since I had paid ahead. The following month I got an eviction notice detailing that my $7,000 was used up and I was behind and needed to pay the remaining balance of what they had calculated for the rent increase. I HAD TO HIRE LEGAL COUNSEL TO CONFIRM THAT THEY WERE WRONG in charging me above and beyond the amount they had taken from me (and issued receipts for) IN ADVANCE.

I paid in advance so that I could complete my cancer treatment without the stress of having to deal with managing monthly finances during my illness. BYRON REED WAS CONNIVING, DECEITFUL, and DISHONEST in how they handled the entire situation.

Seriously, the biggest parking battle of my life. Fucking hate this place. I can hear the neighbors below me stomping around at midnight. I just left to go to the gas station (gone less than 5 minutes at 3am) and lost my spot. I put in a request for a second garage that i never got because they were "fixing it" (called over a month later asking if I still wanted it.) They don't give a fuck about you here.

I don't live at a byron reed apartment or home, but I support and a man who has developmental disabilities that moved into the Carlanna off 27th and leavenworth. I manage most of his financial decisions and day to day professional contacts. He moved into the Carlanna today (1/21/18). Upon arrival, the apartment was clean, quiet, and the residents appeared friendly.

The toilet was not working, so I contacted the emergency maintenance line. The emergency maintenance line stated that a toilet not working was not an emergency and to call back to the main office tomorrow. I protested, stating that an apartment with one bathroom needs to be serviced if it is not working due to any health or safety concerns. Especially since he had just moved in.

I questioned if the apartment was prepped beforehand and was put on hold multiple times. They ultimately landed on me contacting the apartment company in the morning. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the following events: The maintenance man, Jim/Tim? Contacted me about 2 hours after I made the initial call. I let him know that the person living in the apartment had disabilities and he responded immediately.

He went to the apartment after he finished dinner and was able to locate the source of the issue and set up a timeline for the toilet being fixed. The timeline was acceptable and understood by both sides. We talked for a bit, and ended up determining that if I felt that maintenance was a need for the person being supported and there wasn't any response from the company or the emergency line, that I could contact him directly to take care of the issue.

I also truly appreciate the company for allowing and being understanding of moving a person with disabilities into their complex. Often, there is a large and obvious bias against having someone with developmental disabilities move into an apartment complex without a regular support staff or a cosigner. Byron Reed Company accepted my client with open arms and helped talk him through the lease, the finances, and any other questions he had.

They were flexible with a move in timeline and when the deposit/first month's rent was paid. They really worked with and understood that the majority of his income comes from social security, and they were willing to overlook the income requirement based on his social security. We provided his check stubs (which are minimal) to them via email as well as providing social security income.

So far, I have had a few maintenance issues (the company should do a full check of the apartments before move in occurs) but outside of that, they have been wonderful. Everyone has been incredibly kind and understanding. I am not sure if that is because I am in charge of my client's well being, or if that is the way they just are. There are some rather negative reviews about this company, but I feel super positive about our experiences so far.

I will update this review as time goes on. We have moved my client in today, so this is an initial review and experience. Also- after speaking with the maintenance man-I am personally planning to tour a few homes under Byron Reed with a friend. So far so good!

Even though there are amenities such as a pool and a gym, and the office staff is mostly helpful, several of the apartment buildings in this complex have occupants who use recreational drugs which can cause a practical contact high upon entering these buildings. Tenants are informed without visual proof, nothing will be done to remove these illegal drugs and the tenants who illegally use them out of what used to be a good complex.
