_Huckanut property Management is a Joke. I told them about the various mold locations in my apartment and they refuse to address the issues. My wife and I also had to deal with a loud working dryer as well a rusted dishwasher, the response my wife and I received was a notice of a rent increase of Three hundred dollars more on our rent. I taken photos and a video of the mold locations in the apartment.

We moved out of the apartment due to lack of concern for our health by CPM. What is very disturbing is that they kept my deposit of Seven hundred dollars and from that they mailed me a three dollar check, Stating that it went to clean the apartment, we hadn't done a walk thru to check for any damages for our final inspection, they just decided to keep the full deposit and give my wife and I a small three dollar check. We're going to seek legal actions against Chuckant Property soon. Management.

I used to rent from CPM and while they were okay, they are not knowledgeable in the RESIDENTIAL LANDLORD-TENANT ACT. Know your rights as tenants and protect yourself. Especially in regards to service animals and move outs, you have rights.

Wanted us to pay 1.5x first months rent to hold the apartment. This was non-refundable and they wouldn't even show us the lease until we forked out the money. I don't want to pay thousands of dollars before I even know what I'm signing.

Glad I as able to get out of there. when you apply take a screen shot of the listing, they might change it on your lease. The listing told me WSG paid but a week after taking my security deposit and giving me the lease they put in.no utilities included and pulled the ad so I could question it! Gave me keys including a community mailbox key (but didn't know what box was mine and they suggested to go and try all 20+ boxes to find it).

Couldn't tell me where ANY of the connections were or how anything was supposed to work. When I moved in I was stuck with the utility bill from the previous tenants stay (I moved in on the 10th of the month and at the time Bham charged 2 months at a time). They take NO responsibility for ANYTHING. When I moved out, they deducted from my security deposit for the utility bill which tells me that they KEEP the money for themselves and make the tenant pay the outstanding balance even if it's not theirs. Tried to get the SSC to come pick up my garbage as a single payer (all the other rentals are another mgmt company) what a nightmare!

Their solution - throw it in the community dumpster. I had the washer (machine part broken) flood the second floor with water pouring from the light fixtures to the bottom floor. It took 10 days to get the washer repair guy to come and the Mgmnt NEVER came to look to see if there was water damage. They were nice people but just didn't have a clue or care how to manage property. Owners and tenants beware!

If you look at the positive reviews, they are almost all from property owners. Chuckanut treats their tenants like TRASH! I lived in moldy, water damaged properties with broken down appliances for two years. They did not clean or paint before we moved in then they tried to charge us for it in the security deposit. We had to threaten legal action to get any of our security deposit back.

Best rental company I have used while living in Bellingham. Renting was a breeze and the payment portal made it super easy to set up auto payments and request maintence. You could even check the status of your request which has not been my experience with other rental companies. I had to break my lease early and they made it a really smooth process with just a simple fee. Received my security deposit refund 15 days after leaving and about 85% of my security deposit after two years of occupancy.

I lived in a Chuckanut Property Management's rental for almost 2 years and the experience was terrible from beginning to end. Most importantly, they did not even respond to my requests for repairs for weeks. I had to get the name of the home owner via property records and contact him on LinkedIn and get him involved before they made any effort to repair things in the house.

They left me with a broken refrigerator for weeks. They left a fence in the backyard down after a windstorm for over a month. I had to contact the owner every time for him to contact Chuckanut before they even acknowledged my requests. They didn't clean carpets or the house as promised before I moved in; the lady who did the lease signing with me was rude to my children and to myself.

I moved out after proper notice, etc and after I moved out on the designated date and left the keys on the counter, they charged me for an additional month's rent because when I moved out I didn't take the keys to their office. I left them on the kitchen counter as I have in rentals before. They also charged me various bogus charges after moving out. Chuckanut reported to credit agencies that I owed this extra month plus the bogus charges. I've never experienced a worse property management company.

Worst property management ever. If you're trying to move into one of their properties, don't, if you can help it. Never responds to texts, calls, or emails. My back door handle has been broken and unsecured for more than two months now, which they have no intentions to fix before we move out. Gave us a stick to put in the door, (we already had one so thank you guys so much for another) essentially insinuating we should just stop using the door. Rude to tenants, shows up unannounced, ghosts meeting and walkthrough times, "band-aid" fixes everywhere, you name it.

I'm sure they're great at getting money for property owners, at the expense of their tenants' patience and sanity. Absolutely no respect or understanding for peoples lives, these people are pitiful.

I have never left a Google review before but I've gotta make sure people know about this property management. I started my lease with Chuckanut September 2021, I am currently unable to break it due to money purposes so I will be living here until August. I have put my issues in bullet points below that have happened in the past 5 months of living here. -the previous tenants clogged the drains in our basement, the managers knew this and are now blaming us and will be taking damage out of our security deposit. -I told them we had a black mold issue in the walls, that we were worried for our health.

No response. -we had a change of tenancy in December. We found a new person who ended up signing the lease, ever moving in, and hitting the threshold of abandonment in the lease. Emailed the property manager about the situation a few days before abandonment hit and he said "______was never on the lease.to us he was just an applicant". A month later after having to fork out money for extra rent between me and my roomie, the receptionist tells us that to be Able to have someone else move in, we need to have the previous tenant on the lease sign a change of tenancy form.

I said we had no one else besides me and my roomie on the lease. She pulled up the documents and low and behold the person who abandoned us had been on the lease all January and the head manager did not acknowledge this so he did not have to admit abandonment in the house and have us pay the extra money ontop of our normal rent to cover this abandoned persons rent.

Nothing good has happened while being with this management. Some others may have had a great experience but hands down the worst and most unprofessional managers I have ever worked with.

Honestly, they were treating us pretty well for the first year we lived here. We have slowly been getting new appliances because the old ones kept breaking. Recently, we got our kitchen faucet and garbage disposal replaced. The guy that came in to replace these items was not a plumber, and did not know how to actually connect the water back up to the faucet and dishwasher.

So here we are, a week later, still no water in our kitchen because CPM hired an incompetent handyman to come fix our sink. Since it's illegal to leave us with no water, I've contacted the local health department to let them know what's been happening here. The only way these property management companies will learn is by taking legal action, and that's exactly what I plan on doing.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Carpet not attached to the plywood floor anymore, disposal has been broken for 2 months and no help. Toilet not attached to the floor in the bathroom. Refrigerator opens into the carpeted hall but not the kitchen.

Have been nothing but a pain to deal with. Never respond to messages regardless the issue. When living there we submitted so many requests for broken appliances and they came out to look at it and came up with stupid excuses like "you're using the wrong soap" or "you didn't close the dishwasher all the way". At move out, they charged us for damages that were already there prior to move in and were listed on the move-in inspection list.

When I called to dispute the charges, they told me that the property manager would reach out and still nothing. They sent the refund check to the wrong address, even after I called to check and correct them on where to send it. If you can avoid dealing with them, save yourself the time and headache.

The Chuckanut Property Management company completely took advantage of us, they did not clean the house before we tried to move in. When we got the keys on the first day there was food left in the fridge, multiple personal belongings all over the yard, trash all over the lawn, trash in our parking spots, and the photos did not accurately reflect the current condition of the interior of the house at all.

When I contacted them about the issue they were rude and condescending, and didn't respond to emails that were time sensitive. If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm posting this so that those in Bellingham looking for housing do not make the mistake of renting with them like I did. Many people that I have talked to have a similar experience. Stay safe!

Chuckanut Property Management company manages my rental property. They are responsive, professional and I would highly recommend them. Their house cleaning and carpet cleaning crews are amazing.

Applied for an apartment unit took my money ran my stuff told me they talk to me the following day emailed me and said that they had unfortunately rented out to someone else I was very confused because the conversation I had the day before I was told that I was the first priority later on talking to them I was told that I didn't meet qualifications but they could move my application over to a different apartment within the next 30 days but if I don't meet qualifications and it's just a waste of money and time to even attempt that. completely discriminate against age I have all the qualifications to move into this apartment they just did not want to rent to me.

Chuckanut has managed my properties for nearly 15 years and is a five star business. They find the best tenants and are responsive to my needs. Olivia is my prop manager and she is the most knowledgeable and attentive one that I've worked with. Highly recommend Chuckanut if you are a property owner in Whatcom County.

I would not recommend renting with this company as I believe that their lease agreements are predatory. Every other lease I have ever signed has very defined procedures about how to vacate and what happens when your lease ends. I wound up having to pay another month's rent (which wasn't cheap) at the end of my lease because their system is set up to automatically roll over at the end of a lease if you do not send a written intent to vacate 30 days prior to the end of a lease.

This clause was not in the "Lease" section of the agreement, but in the "Security deposit" section. On top of that, they sent out an email blaming COVID for not sending out renewal letters on time, giving me the impression that at some point, I would receive a letter to renew as I always have in the past, but that letter never came. This all combined into a situation which wound up costing me dearly. Overall, the situation was unclear, unprofessional, and in my personal opinion, immoral.
