They do not respond to maintenance requests, slum Lords. Multiple code violations. Electrical issues.

Was denied due to work history even though I've never went without a job, at my current employer 8 months, was at the previous one for 3 years. Also said bad rental reference even though I've lived at my current residence for 4 years. This makes no sense and I feel as though they are just denying people because they can. Something legally needs to be done about this agency. This is NOT equal or fair housing.

Rented over 5 years from Bauers until owner decided to manage himself. During that time with Bauers, I had very good experience. Maintenance requests were prompt and very well done. Management was respectful and helpful as well as respecting my privacy. The rent was affordable and reasonable. I will have no hesitation to rent again from Bauers.

We have rented from Bauer on two separate leases and had good experiences both times. Staff are friendly and maintenance requests have been resolved promptly. Rent is reasonable and we have enjoyed both homes that we rented from them.

Unless your going through private landlords you will not find any available rentals in Ashland or surrounding areas. And people wonder why there are so many rentals in Ashland because they only select people they want and if they don't think you meet their standards you will simply be tossed aside. Extremely biased and incompetent as a business, think if Hitler ran a Realty company and only let "The Perfect German" rent from him and forget about anyone else who isn't.

My husband and I were looking to rent a house through this agency. They were extremely rude and very judgmental. They went way further than needed for our background checks as they searched through our social media accounts to try and find out "more information". The staff was very distasteful and unwilling to help us further in the search for a place to live (leaving us with limited choices as this is unfortunately one of the only agencies to rent from in Ashland). I would not recommend Bauer Management Realty.

We moved to Ashland from out-of-state. We were not aware of the terrible reputation this company has at the time. We learned and they lived up to it, or down to it, I suppose. Repairs are a joke. They are jerry-rigged by the company's maintenance crew. The roof was leaking and created a hole in the ceiling 3 ft wide. It took 4 months before the roof was fixed and the ceiling still had that hole in it when we moved out 4 months later. 8 months with a hole in the ceiling.

But we knew by the rent prices we were renting from slum lords. What we didn't know, because they never told us, was that the last tenants used the property as a meth lab. Imagine our surprise when no one would trick-or-treat at our new home despite decorations and a huge bowl of candy bars on the front porch! What really takes the cake is how we were treated as we were moving out.

We stayed for 3 years, paid our rent on time every month, did most of the repairs ourselves (waiting months was not an option for many of them), and they raised the rent every year after the first. First it was $10, then $15, and finally they tried to raise it another $50 a month! We decided it was time to move. We paid $150 to have a thorough cleaning done, despite the fact that it was cleaner than it was when we moved in just from the cleaning we ourselves did.

We knew we would not get our entire security deposit due to Bauer's reputation as slum lords, but we were really aghast when we saw our post-lease invoice. When we moved in, we paid $1150 security deposit. When we moved out we received an invoice for another $362 and every single charge on the invoice was completely fabricated. $585 for cleaning the house!

Ask anyone who has ever rented from Bauer, you have to clean when you move in because they never do even a basic cleaning to these properties. And they threaten to send it to collections, by the way, so if you value your credit DO NOT RENT from this company. They take slum lording to a whole new level.

Never any issues with them. Be a good tenant like you're supposed to be and all is well. Everyone is kind and as long as you communicate with them, they work with you through unexpected hardships. Every issue with the rental gets fixed in a timely manner and they seem to actually care about concerns you have. I'd recommend Bauer to anyone, couldn't ask for better landlords!

I would never recommend these people to anyone. My friend has an apartment from them, and they are doing NOTHING about the SEVERE WATER DAMAGE in her ceiling. They also charged her an extra $25 because her bank was not open early enough, and she had to go into work before she could drop off the rent that she had. Neighbors complain about cigarette smoke when you're ALLOWED to smoke cigarettes in the apartment. If you don't want to smell it, don't move somewhere where smoking is allowed. I will not be buying/renting anything from Bauer.

This company is completely ridiculous. If you have the option to rent else where please check into that before locking yourself into a lease with these people. They are rude and very unprofessional. They will release your information to anyone who contacts their office without contacting you first to see if that would be fine. When I called to inquire about breaking my lease they immediately put my home up on their website without notifiing me, then began scheduling people to come to look at it.

They also put a for rent sign up. Mind you no paperwork was submitted as they require you to in order to even begin to break your lease. I simply made a phone call to see what the cost would be. Dealing with these people is the worst mistake I have ever made. I'm very glad to be done with them.
