I have had roaches and mice continuously since I moved in. The management has been unable to fix the problem. I ended up filing a complaint with the county health office and moving out. If you like mice and roaches as roommates, then this is the place for you. 117 S Chester Rd

Media Real Estate please higher a reputable pest control company for your properties. It's ridiculous that you can't seem to get a hold of the mice problem in your building.

Unfortunately I experienced a mouse and roach problem the entire time I lived here that management was unable to rectify. I would not rent with Media again based upon the pest problem.

Media Real Estate WEBSITE Very Difficult to use Across Platforms, especially using Smartphone; Tablet, or on Local Library Computers. (Many residents are already struggling with Rental and Car Payments-- and do not have, nor can afford, Full-Service home Internet Services on a personal computer.) As Media Real Estate Company no longer offering either In-Person, or Staff for Telephone Support since COVID -- does the Company even consider how this impacts Tenants?

Prior to COVID, I would say most Tenants were about as happy with MRE as with any other Landlord. Since COVID, have drastically reduced any form of personal touch for Tenants without Full Service Internet.

My friend lives in one of their apartment buildings in Media and it is absolutely disgusting. Every time I walk in, the ONLY thing you can smell is cigarette smoke despite the signage that it is a "smoke free" community. Walking around the parking lots when we go out to the borough, you always smell weed. I always park on the street when I visit and we always take my car when we go places since the parking lot is horrible.

There are cars parked everywhere sometimes you can't make it through. The dumpsters are regularly overflowing with trash, and people leave open cans of food out for the stray cats. I keep telling my friend to move out, I don.t know what he sees in this place

First of all, they are incredibly difficult to get a hold of. They say they will come fix something for you but will take weeks to do it. The wild mice are ridiculous and there is mouse poop everywhere which is a health hazard! I lived in Greylock for a little while and there was signs of bed bugs so I had my own personal exterminator come in, and the apartment was completed infested! They're so poorly maintained anymore, it's sad. Media Real Estate is not what they used to be. I'd give less than 1 star is possible. Stay away!

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Don't bother renting from Media Real Estate Company. They don't care about you or the quality of product they are selling or the quality of person they allow to live there. Someone could break into your unit and all they would say is "sorry that happened, but do you have rent money?" Do yourself a favor and skip the aggravation.

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness they literally don't answer phone calls or emails. if you're looking to move to media, look on craigslist first. they don't care about their tenants because they know how many people are looking to move here, they'll always have someone to fill your place. steer clear.

I've lived in a media real estate property for 10 years ( Swarthmore location). The area is pretty quiet and safe. The building manager is nice and works hard to keep the building clean. Parking can be a challenge since 2 apartment buildings share the same small lot. I do unfortunately have to validate a prior post about the building being over run by mice lately.

This past winter they were running all over my apartment from the bathroom, bedroom livingroom and kitchen. I managed to find the hole they were coming from and packed it but I could not control the ones passing through the heating vents. There were so many. I'm not even afraid of them anymore because Ive become so desensitived to them running through my place this past winter.

Unfortunately the bedbug issue is true. When I first moved here a friend said this building had a problem. I have never personally witnessed it until about 3 years ago. I came home and notice all the apartments in my hall had signs on the doors for extermination services. Except mine and the 2 next to me. I learned from an upset neighbor the apartments were infested with bedbugs.

And it appeared the same apartments on the 2nd 3rd and 4th floor had them as well. I called the manager and asked if my apartment receive treatment since I was connected to one of the infested apartments. They were polite and treated my apartment 3 to 4 times to be safe. However, years later Ive seen mattresses being thrown away with " bed bugs" written on them.

I have been very cautious since I have noticed this because it appears they are still in the building. Praying I survive my last year here bed bug free. Once they get the bedbug and mouse situation under control this would be an amazing place to live again.

I found a corroded faucet in the master bath(has since been replaced). One of my very old bedroom windows has a cracked screen and trouble opening(the weather is changing). One of 3 very old windows in living room doesn't stay up, and none of the old screens touch the base of the window completely allowing for insects to enter. There is a toilet in the 1/2 bath that has the base exposed.

The kitchen cabinets and drawers are peeling and cracking, they didn't think needed replacing. Having trouble with the electric grates on the stove hard to remove to clean grip pans and one front burner keeps popping up. The last item is just an fyi for Media Real Estate to check the company laying the wall to wall carpeting. I can hear EVERY foot step in every part of the 3rd floor apartment and I am sure they can hear Every one of my foot steps so I don't think there is enough padding between floor and rug.

Yes I know there is a pandemic going on however I looked at this apartment in Feburary so each of these issues could have been addressed before I moved in. Haven't ever lived in an apartment with this many issues and one building I lived in was built in 1950. No accountability with this company so I would absolutely not recommend them.

Josie Francis was a wonderful real estate agent. She answered all of my questions and responded quickly. She found me exactly what I was looking for. I am so excited for my new apartment! It has everything I wanted and more. I will definitely be using these services again in the future. I would HIGHLY recommend them. I was able to find a beautiful, spacious apartment for a reasonable price. Thank you so much!

Very professional and helpful. I was looking for an apartment and was having no luck for a few months. On a whim, I decided to contact Media Real Estate to see if anything was available in any of their establishments within my price range. Josie Francis responded and was very accommodating and helpful throughout the whole process. She provided a few options and details and then we set up a tour for the one I thought would suit me best.

The apartment I viewed was clean and nice, I instantly knew I wanted to move in. The process from there was seamless and painless, I was even able to start moving my things that following weekend. Any questions or concerns that I had were answered clearly and with kindness. I've so far enjoyed my place since. They definitely made finding my first place an easier and positive experience!

I've been living in Media for several years anytime you need something fixed. Maintenance is always on top of it. My toilet was the problem after several attempts to try and fix it. I spoke with the Manager Chris Super nice guy! George the Maintenance man put in a new toilet today. I offered him some water, he said yea sure, we chatted a little when he was leaving he said hey. Thanks for the hospitality and shook my hand. That's what you call GREAT service from Media Real Estate! George Thanks again.

Horrible costumer service from everyone at this company! Called to inquire about houses for sale in the area and whomever answered the phone apparently did not have time for me, a customer. She rudely answered the phone, cut me off mid sentence and then put me on hold until I eventually hung up. The "Realtors" act like you are inconveniencing them and barely make eye contact.

I saw a large sign for a commercial space available for lease, so I asked my real estate agent to contact Media Real Estate to inquire about it. They were told that it was already leased. Many days later I saw the sign still up so I called myself. The person on the phone said it was already leased and that they had not had the chance to update the sign. Okay, fair enough.

But then, the conversation ended with no follow-up questions on their part. If it were me, I would have asked if I could show someone interested in a commercial lease any other properties. (I probably would have said yes.) If I had my property listed with them, I would be annoyed with agents showing lackluster effort.

We have been in the same apartment for 3 years and are moving on to a new home. Media Real Estate has been amazing! Our apartment is in an old victorian home and is absolutely beautiful! Media Real Estate has been so helpful and quick at responding when it comes to maintenance. Management is AWESOME! Big shout out to Amanda who is so easy to work with. And as far as a realtor - go with Josie! We LOVED her! Thank you for an amazing experience. We will definitely recommend you to our friends and family!

Yorktown Bldg. Love living here. Short walk to the Regional Rail and SEPTA bus and trolley lines, walking distance to shopping (Trader Joe's, Wawa, Downtown shops, Deals, Kovac's Deli), dining, Media Theater, parks, just about anything one could want or need. Neighbors are generally kind, clean, quiet, and friendly. Some are absolute jerks about parking rules.

They reserve spaces (not allowed) by leaving a second vehicle "space-holding" so that no one else can park. Parking is horrendous.unless one is a cheat or has excellent timing. The building itself is kept in order by a true gentleman, Mr. Keller. Laundry rooms, halls, vestibule, vacuumed daily and presentable at any given time. The landscaping is growing lusher with the warmer season and is well-maintained. almost too well.

The noise from the leaf blowers and mowers in the morning hours will ruin your sleep if you have a window on the front side of the building. It's Hell for we on the late shift. Maintenance is quick and thorough when called. Not a single issue with their professionalism in my 6 years here.

I needed to move back into media so I was in the school district. I was told to give Susan Deeb a call. We talked about my wants and needs, financial abilities ect., we looked at one home, and that is now my home with my two boys. I had to make a long term commitment for school purposes and susan and MRE worked with me to have it be a perfect situation.

As a single mom, I'm not as handy as I might like to be so if my Dad can't fix it, I've relied on the maintenance team and Susan to help me. I have never heard "no" and I have never experienced any one being rude or uncaring. They truly have gone above and beyond. Quite frankly my family runs a property management company and when I tell them what MRE does for me, they are quite surprised. I'm sure people might think I work for them with this glowing review but rest assured I do not.

I honestly know when I call susan or Tom I'm maintenance, they are going to take care of whatever they can. Response is always same day or next as well. I'm grateful that I have a wonderful team looking out for me and my family! Thank susan and Tom. you guys are awesome.

My neighbors were great, but when I moved in I was left a door that you could see through thanks to all the cracks. A carpet that was falling apart. I put a maintenance request in for the carpet and received no response. The column in my bedroom had peeling paint. When the person came out to fix it he spackled over a wet wall. He then came back about a week later to sand it down, but to his dismay the plaster began falling off.

I walked in on him realizing the situation. He saw boxes in my room, and let me know the repairs would need to be done on the outside of the building. Since I was moving he said they would wait, I told him I wasn't moving. Still no repairs, but they raised my rent of course. I just received my deposit back. $500 to replace the old worn down carpet that I put in a request to be replaced.

Another $100 to fix the door from my pet. Yes, my dog scratched on the door removing some paint. I just think if you can stand in a hallway and look into an apartment through cracks they should already be replacing that door. I can go on about when the water was dripping from upstairs and my drop ceiling tiles were all water stained. Guess how they fixed it. Seriously, they painted the tile only where the water stain was, so now the ceiling doesn't match and the water is making the paint begin to peel. It is great to live in Media, it is just too bad this company holds the most stock in it.

Ok. so if there weren't enough reasons to hate this company they decided to rid the option of paying rent with your card. Checks only. Seriously!? Who uses checks anymore. You already took away the option of paying rent online (for free) now this!? Ugh! Just another annoying pain in the ass thing you change. Once again been looking to move out of media real estate, they aren't good landlords.

Woman that answers the phone in maintenance is a huge bitch EVERY time I call. As if I am putting HER out by making the phone call. If your properties didn't always have issues, I wouldn't always need to be calling maintenance.

So frustrating! Despite numerous bad word of mouth reviews, I thought I'd give media real estate a fair chance. The rental agent I was working with would take days to respond to emails, despite my expressed interest in viewing a number of properties. The last we spoke I emailed her my availability to set up a viewing, that was over a week ago and I haven't heard back.

This tells me enough about them as a company if I'm not even a priority when it's in their best interest. I can't imagine the hassle of dealing with them on a continued basis if I were to rent one of their properties.

I've read the other comments and I don't agree with them at all. I have been a commercial tenant of MRE for 40 years. They have always addressed maintenance issues is a timely manner and have always been courteous (yes, Kathy at the front desk has been friendly too). Jeff Cadorette in particular has been very fair with us over the years. I would definitely recommend them as a landlord and/or real estate agent.

I rented from Media Real Estate for 3 years in an old house that was converted into 4 apartments. The location was great, walking distance from downtown Media, and the apartment had plenty of charm but the management of the property was terrible. If there was a problem such as no heat or a broken window the problem once called in could take weeks to be resolved.

If something was broken or not working their first response was to blame the tenant or be on the defensive. Kathy, the receptionist, was always rude and uncooperative. She was also unhelpful with connecting you to the appropriate person you needed to talk with. In fact, she seemed to be an expert at diverting you from reaching any person of importance that could resolve your problems.

Maintenance would come into my apartment unannounced as well with no note or notice. It's a shame that Media Real Estate owns so many nice properties in Media. I've lived here for almost six years and just bought my first home here and there is an overall consensus from many residents living here that Media Real Estate is a terrible company with a disjointed and dysfunctional management style. It's an old, family run business who just doesn't care about their tenants. Use anyone else!

Media real estate is the most awful company ever. Giving them one star is generous. my husband and I are model tenants yet anytime something breaks or leaks (which is every week it seems) they give us an incredibly hard time. The old woman who answers the phone for the maintenance department is a miserable old witch. I've never been treated so rudely.

There is NEVER hot water due to the 50 year old water heater that they refuse to replace. I've taken one too many ice cold showers before work in the dead of winter. The maintenance department throws stuff from the windows above me instead of walking garbage down to the dumpster when they were renovating the apartment above me. They almost dropped an old carpet on my head from the third floor because they are so Lazy.

If you enjoy an apartment over run with mice cockroaches and ants then this is the place for you because they do not maintain their properties. They want to take our money and make you suffer. They are the devil.

We found this to be a rather unethical company. Even though we followed the prescribed move out policy, they falsified our move out date and charged us a hefty fee. It took several phone calls for them to even address the issue and 2 months later we are still waiting for a response. While living in the property, our water was shut off at least once every other week for several hours for "emergency repairs." On Christmas eve, our bathroom ceiling started leaking water from the apartment above, damaging the ceiling tiles and wall. This was never repaired, despite requests.
