I have lived at the Vineyard Village apartments for almost 5 years. About 9 months ago, work needed to be done on my enclosed patio and the balcony above. A paper noticed was placed on my door with dates given for the work to be done. The dates were not accurate and come the time when the notice said I could expect workers on my patio, no one showed up.

Several days later, I went to my patio door half naked to let my dog out. There stood men on my patio. It scared the heck out of me. I am a woman living alone and a survivor of an in home attack so this was especially upsetting to me. I called the office and asked that in the future, I be notified if workers were going to be on my patio. I explained my issue of past trauma to the apartment manager Britney Madison who agreed to do this in the future.

Yesterday I woke up to find men on my enclosed patio AGAIN! No notice of ANY kind was given. I called Britney and she said she was aware but thought they were only replacing 2 boards.they replaced the whole balcony! The next day, I walked in my living room to find workers again on my patio and looking in my windows. They were tromping and breaking items on my patio.

I had to yell out to one of them to keep him from breaking my plants. My patio was destroyed. I have a large dog. If I had let her out to go potty, she may have bitten one of them. I have a right to privacy and to be notified if workers are expected. There was no emergency and thus no legal right to enter my rental space without first notifying me. Does living at an Allmark property mean I have to give up basic human rights? I feel so violated and frustrated. This is a clear violation of California renters rights and to the basic right of privacy and the dignity of have ones own space.
