I would give them no stars! They are awful. Last night their rental partied and screamed until 5AM on a weekday. They kept my entire family up and some of us have to work today and one family member is recovering from surgery. They smashed a vanity mirror on the boardwalk. I called Sun-Surf Reality to let them know that there are a ton of cars at the rental, the doors and windows were left open, it is pouring rain, they partied and screamed until 5AM, they smashed a mirror on the boardwalk.

They told me there is nothing they could do! I asked them to call the renters and let them know they should consider being better neighbors and they said they would do nothing. If you are a homeowner I would not use this company. She told me to call the police to clean up their mess. I also asked who would clean the smashed mirror and she told me I couldn't prove it was them and that again I should bother the police.

The homeowner just redid their home's interior and Sun-Surf rented it to disrespectful folks. Ok -they didn't know when they rented it but I called them and let them know-they said they had nothing to do with the issues and I needed to call the police or go to the renters and complain myself -they were taking no responsibility. What an awful company and awful neighbors. Don't use this company.

1, because ZERO wasn't an option. I caution, READ reviews and then read Sun-Surf's responses to many. We arrived to Casa A-mur on Sat afternoon. Pictures do not explain layout, but it's beach. Beach itself was great. Upon arriving, neighbor (in Triplex) advised that the lot was being paved Wednesday. I called Sun-Surf, who was oblivious to this, and they noted they'd let me know, but likely be Monday.

I also advised needed new grill. Monday afternoon went by, as still hadn't heard anything, and they sent grill over (other was disgusting). Staff (Kathy I think) noted still working on paving issues and would find solution, noting we may have to relocate temporarily. I advise that was not an option to uproot, for a day, then return, that's not vacation.

She DID however find it wise to advise me that both neighbors in triplex constantly complained about renters, and she also blamed the property owner for the issues we faced. Tuesday was same, multiple calls to find out solution. Wednesday after multiple calls, late in day we were advised paving would NOW be Thursday to Friday, and they had "arranged" for 1 car to be parked at police station (4 miles off), the other in easement on side of road some 1/4 mile off.

Mind you, I had to take cars, given police my personal info, and wait about an hour in a police station on my vacation with my son. Mid-day Thursday, after getting up super early and moving 1 car to station and the other 1/4 mile off, neighbor, NOT SUN SURF came over and advised paving would now be Friday am, till Saturday morning. Keep in mind, check out is Saturday.

Sun Surf again was OBLIVIOUS to this and of course it was the neighbors fault, as well as the property owner at fault. They advised they'd call me back with some NEW epiphanic solution. They did, and Kathy (I think it was her) advised that same arrangement (leaving car 4 miles off, and 1 in easement) was an option. I advised that didn't cover not having access to vehicle while loading. So, we left Friday morning early for 8 due to inexcusable support or response from Sun Surf realty.

Sun Surf reimbursed 50%, minus taxes, not including chair and umbrella costs, and again advised of how bad the neighbors were, and how property owner was an issue. NOTHING was said before booking about what Kathy noted was an ongoing issue at this location. 50%, but I literally only had ONE day of the 6 that I wasn't forced to deal with multiple contacts trying to resolve issues a customer should have never faced.

My assumption was that THE above would be factored in if we rented for next season. I got initial bill for new rental, and politely emailed expressing concerns, and was emailed back by Kathy "could not authorize a discount" which THEY COULD, they just chose not to. She also noted I need to cancel or confirm for next year. So, to summarize. 1 - beach itself was great 2 - rental was older, but no real issues, other than grill was disgusting and toilet stuck 3 - air conditioning was mediocre, but it's beach. 4- PER Sun surf, neighbors are horrible on both sides and always complain.

Sun surf didn't bother to advise RENTER (ME) of that before taking my money though. 5 - Sun surf blamed owner of unit for paving, noting that owner of unit and other 2 in tri-plex did not get along because they were permanent tenants. 6 - Sun Surf didn't take ownership of the issue, nor go above and beyond to protect MY VACATION by addressing ALL aspects. 7 - I offered to leave and come back at later date, with full reimbursement or something and apparently taking my money upfront was most critical and more important that quality support that results in return customers. BUYER BEWARE, when a REALTY Agent HIDES things before renter purchases and they THEN start blasting those neighbors as bad, it's inexcusable THE fact that Sun Surf staff told ME, as a renter about how BAD the permanent tenants of where CASA AU MER 2 is was one of the most unprofessional and inappropriate things to tell a renter at ALL, much less AFTER I'm now faced with a ruined vacation. Inexcusable and thinking 50% was the right answer shows that they're more interested in your money.

Half the AC (power) outlets don't work, the empty pool was left uncovered and we worried our children would fall in, there were cockroaches, the banister on the stairs was wobbly and we worried about falling down the stairs, the kitchen and bathrooms were very outdated. The router is old and the WIFI is shoddy. Never trust your vacation to these people.

We stayed in Sea Garden last month for one week. You'll love this place if you like coming in to your vacation spot with over 50 little dead worms on the floor, shower curtains with heavy mildew, stopped up shower drains, and horribly uncomfortable beds. The bedroom windows/doors had no window treatments so not being sure who might see in, we dressed in the bathroom before we took some command strips and hung some blankets over the doors.

Don't dare think of sleeping late on vacation as you will have the sun shining in your eyes at the crack of dawn. Nicely asking for some type of compensation fell on deaf ears. Supposedly they were going to reach out to the owner and still to this day, six weeks later we have heard nothing. I wrote a letter to the owner because I thought she may be concerned that her rental house was not being managed well.

Before I wrote this review, I gave the agency another chance to answer my concerns. Apparently Sunsurf doesn't care about repeat business and neither does the owner of Sea Garden because I have heard nothing.

We were very dissatisfied with our stay at Sunsurf realty. I realized it was a duplex after I rented it. This was a little concerning since we always book a house. I spoke to an employee through email and was reassured that it would be private and we wouldn't be sharing anything. She even told me the fenced in yard was for our use only. I was concerned with my dog having to be walked on a leash the entire time. Well, numerous times I would have my dog outside the other people staying there would bring their dog out. I'd have to take my dog back inside.

The main deck wasn't private at all. Not only could you see each other through the wall if you want to call it that, but you could also hear everything each other said. Not a big deal right? It is when the people right next door to you are singing racist songs and using the n word. Especially when you have African Americans in your party. This made us all feel uncomfortable and a little on edge.

We definitely couldn't enjoy our vacation. It wasn't the rental companies fault the people staying there were racist, but there should have been more privacy like I was told there would be. I messaged the rental company explaining what happened and I have yet to get a response. I will never rent from them again and definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone. This was our first time staying at emerald isle and it will probably be our last.

After 2 weeks renting in Oct thru Sun-Surf Realty we couldn't be more pleased and plan to return next year. They were extremely helpful when we asked to extend from 1 to 2 weeks. My daughter lost her "lovey" in the sheets when we left and later I called to see if they could find her. The sheets were off to the professional cleaners but Sun-Surf assured me they would do their best to find her.

After a week, they called and found her beloved dog. I couldn't be more thankful to the women who helped find her and return her to my daughter. I have recommended this company and the place we stayed to everyone I know. thank you again, Sun-Surf!

This rental company has done a great job responding to our concerns during our stay. Within just a few hours they had resolved all of them. They are pleasant and easy to work with too.

By far the worst rental experience I have ever had! We rented The Joy of STX. There were ants in the kitchen and the flys was almost to the point of being unbearable! But the absolute worse was when the neighbors called the Emerald Isle police department on us simply because they didn't know if they unit was supposed to be rented that week or not! YES instead of calling the realtor they called the police!

In the confusion of all of this the realtor discovered we had my father's 2lb dog with us the homeowner was told of this and we were told to remove the dog immediately! We tried to reason with her and to no avail. I was unaware this was a no pet house or we would have not had him with us. One of the people in our party had to leave early to bring my dads little dog home!

I think the home owner thinks the house is a lot nicer than it is! Its very clear there has been animals in the house before! I've been coming to emerald isle for at least 2 weeks a year for years and we have always Used Blue Water and we have never had any issues but because of this being such last minute I had to go with some else. Personally I wouldn't stay at the Joy if STX again and use this realtor again if they were they only ones one on the island! For all our trouble all the realtor did was say im sorry.

Martha Martin listed our beach house. She was fabulous. She helped us get the repairs we needed done, provided great advice, and kept us informed thru the entire process. And all that at a commission that was lower than the other realtors in the area

Amazing team to deal with. We are a defense contractor that works nationwide and seldom do we have a housing experience that Sun-Surf Provided. We were blown away by the experience. I am definitely going back with the family in tow next time!

We had a wonder stay at the beach and no problems with the condo. COVID made key pick up and drop off probably a little easier. Got a good price for a nice space and a great week at the beach this past September.

We rented a home for the week at Emerald Isle.obviously several thousands of dollars. Had several issues: 1)Grass was taller than my small dog (almost to my knee) and random small cactus plants about in the grass. 2)Floors had so much sand on them we couldn't walk around barefooted in the house until we cleaned it ourselves 3)Shower lights were literally small battery motion activated lights that were stuck to the ceiling in the showers where you had to keep moving or waving hand to get them to turn back on 4)Dryer vent was not hooked up. Had to purchase hardware to fix this so we could use the dryer rather than waiting for maintenance to get around to it. 5)The house had no gutters.

Not even blocks over the doors or garage so you get soaked if it is raining and you want to go out front or back of the house (all the water coming off roof) 6)Dishwasher was unusable. They sent out an appliance tech the next day but the dishwasher was not installed correctly and it was a plumbing issue. Never head back from rental agency and just never got to use dishwasher. Had to hand wash all dishes for five people.

Definitely will be choosing different agency next year. It really felt like they are desensitized to people not complaining about issues and they just let them ride. Hopefully this will help others make the right choice when renting a property in the future at Emerald Isle.

This was me and my S/O's first time staying with Sun-Surf and we had an amazing time. The house we rented was stocked with plenty of cooking/baking instruments which made it easy to cook anything we had ingredients for. We had plenty of linens to get us through the week as well. The house was very clean which was a pleasant change since other realty companies I've stayed with haven't been. Also, the associates I communicated with were very polite. If we ever decide to go back to Indian Beach/Emerald Isle, we will definitely book with Sun-Surf Realty again!

The folks over at Sun-Surf Realty are amazing! We booked a reservation through another rental company (Emerald Isle Realty) and found our rental to have lots of cockroaches -- and Emerald Isle Realty refunded our money but refused to help us find another place to stay. Sun-Surf really came through for us: Cathy went above and beyond to help us find a place and all the staff were so compassionate as we were very stressed in trying to find a place to rest our heads. They really saved our vacation! We'll be booking through them again in the future.

This company has the lowest integrity. I have rented from them in a house called Coastal Comfort for four years and this year we ran into a lot of issues. Their response was to our concerns was to be silent and not respond. Coastal Comfort was dirty upon arrival; dishes and old pizza were under the couches so we know the staff didn't clean the house and the deck was covered with cigarettes that were put out on the furniture; what I hope was dog feces (not human) sat on the deck.

By the end of the second night, the cockroaches invaded the kitchen. They were big and small, a sign of infestation. Our call to Sun Surf yielded no response. Then we were evacuated Wednesday am. We sadly came during the week Hurricane Dorian hit, Labor Day weekend; our trip was cut short, but in the scheme of the tragedy of the Hurricane, we weren't too upset.

What was upsetting was when they offered us the chance to take the place for 2020, we explained our issues and asked them to get back to us before committing to the next year since the house was disgusting. No one responded. After four years I didn't earn the respect of a reply. I sent another email 2 weeks later asking for a response. I got none.

This house is $2500 for a week; we didn't get a dime back from the mandatory evacuation and even that is fine. But to be treated like this after being loyal for years hurts. I've been coming to EI for 25 years since I was 13. Its a wonderful place, a very special retreat me and my family return to every year. But this company has done everything to try and ruin that.

They are cowards, greedy and miserly, they want your money and could care less about anything else. Terribly sad. There are so many other options to rent from. Don't use them. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Safe yourself from the stress and bull these people hand out. Upon arrival Sept 21,19 I noticed the house, Summer Sands, was very dusty. We found hair in the bathroom sink, dog hair on a kitchen table, sand on the chairs, the whole house was dirty. The ceiling fan in the living room looked as it hasn't been clean for years, the deck had boards that were coming up and apart.

The very bottom step of the deck that led out to the beach was over a foot high, someone had put a 2 step stool in place of the bottom steps ( we were told that it was due to the storms and the sand had been washed away because of erosion.) At the end of the week, the steps still hadn't been fixed or anything done to help make the bottom step easier or safer.

There are soft spots all over the house as if they laid new flooring down and didn't fix the sub floor at all before any new carpet or lanolium was laid. The dryer stopped working after only one time using it on Tuesday evening. We called Saturday to report the problems we found after check-in, and while they did send maintenance and housekeeping, both people they sent seemed bothered that they had to come to fix things that should of already been done before our arrival.

We had mentioned the steps to both people, maintenance said he would talk to the office and get back with us. That didn't happen. Housekeeping seemed like she was inconvenienced as if we had nothing to be upset about. They did send some one to look at the dryer, which resulted in another person having to look at it also. A repairman did show up, said he had been to this house several times, just this summer for the same problem.

So they knew that this house was having problems and did nothing to fix them before our arrival. (We hung our clothes out on the rickety deck to save money because a laundry mat would of cost a small fortune) On several occasions when we called about one of the problem, they acted like they had no idea what we were taking about so we were transferred to another person and had to repeat everything again. Do yourself a favor and don't rent from these people. Safe your money and keep looking for people that appreciate your business.

If using Sun-Surf Reality BEWARE! I went on vacation with my family which included young children. We had rented a duplex. First off, the house did NOT match the pictures on their site, second, the house was unsafe. Electrical sockets were hanging out, rods were only fastened on one side, parts of the house in disrepair. On top of that they were doing construction on the house next to ours. Sun-Surf reality claimed it was "light maintenance " when in fact it was heavy banging.

We were unable to nap our children because it was so LOUD AND REPEATATIVE. Sun-Surf didn't nothing to help our situation, they would say they would call back then NOT. Very unprofessional. Will NEVER use them again. I was told by several people that BLUEWATER REALITY and EMERALD REALITY are the ones to use! I can't even give it one star.

Great people nice clean houses. Would not stay anywhere else. If you need something all you have to do is call. And the will have someone bring it out for you. They treat you just like family. Thanks Sun-Surf for all you do to make our stay great and worry free. Here's to next year.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. Do yourself a favor and listen to all of these reviews. We are yet another family who went the whole week without AC. Sun Surf gave us portable units, but not enough for the bedrooms so all 6 of us had to move mattresses into the 2 rooms with units. One unit continually tripped the circuit, so it really didn't even work.

The room remained at 80 degrees +. There were also no fire alarms in the basement, which seems dangerous for a rental property seeing as there were 2 rooms down there. Another issue was a constant fuse being blown by something the electrician couldn't even figure out. Nothing was done to make our vacation any easier - we had to call multiple times each day just to get little things done. It was way more effort than it should have been - you'd think they would try to keep customers happy.

Updated review: After going without air conditioning for a week at the beach (among a bunch of other issues), I was hoping SunSurf would make it right. They did not. I spoke to a very condescending young lady in the office upon check out who said it was against their policy to offer any refunds or compensation. But that she would "speak to her manager." I suppose they are trained to say that because I heard it from everyone I spoke to but the so-called manager was never in. Luckily we had milder temperatures, I feel for the people who have rented the house (Footprints) for the rest of the summer.they will be miserably hot and won't get anything in return!

Sir, Your response demonstrates to every reader your company's non-commitment to customer satisfaction. It is true that your company offered us 3 options and two of those were described as "nicer" homes. The photos online definitely showed Dolphin Watch not as updated or "nice" as the other homes. What it didn't show was the damp, musty smell in the downstairs, the mold in the bathrooms, hallways, and bedrooms, the holes in the walls, the unclean cabinets, the spiral staircase with wobbly railing, blood stained pillows, old mattresses, and unclean bedding. But, according to you, it is rented at the same price as those nicer, inhabitable homes.

Why is a home in this condition even something you have on your list to rent? We made it very clear to your staff that anything not oceanfront was not an option. Dragging 10 kids and supplies to the beach for the day was not the vacation we paid for. It's unfortunate that you are just now taking the time to say you are "sorry". When my husband took time from our family to go to your business on Tuesday, he was told someone would be there to clean, or we would be given other options.

Not only did nothing get cleaned, we heard nothing from anyone from SunSurf again until my husband repeatedly called later that week and again the following week. It is apparent from the other negative posts that no monetary compensation will result from these reviews. My only hope is that by avoiding your company, others' will have a better vacation experience than we did.

I agree with the other reviews. I will never deal with Sun-Surf Realty again. They do not care about the customer. I phoned them several days before we were to leave on our trip to see exactly what items were available at the house we had rented. The items I asked about were not listed on the description of the house "Content". I was told if it was not listed on the site they could not tell me if the items were provided and probably were not provided.

I am talking about an iron, towels, washcloths, dishes, hangers and extra blankets. So I packed all the items I would need. Well the items were provided so why were they not listed as provided on the website so customers would not have to pack items already there. When we arrived I started to make the bed and there was dirt and dog hair all over the comforter and all over the mattress cover.

I removed them and placed plastic over the mattress and used our own pillows. Linens were provided since we paid for a week and at least they were clean. The door on the ocean side did not have a key. After walking along the beach my husband had to walk up to the deck, down to the garage level, around to the street side of the house, up that flight of stairs to unlock that door, go through the house and unlock the door from the inside to let me and our dog inside.

We called and complained but no one ever came. We were told they did not have a key and there was nothing they could do about it. Inside the cabinet there was a dish drain with a sponge in it. They both had dog hair all over them. The cookware felt greasy. The coffee cups were extra- large and very very small. The ceiling fans were filthy. The garage doors were rusted shut.

I did not even try to use the washer and dryer b/c they were located in the garage area and there was no entrance from inside the house. Oh and we had to turn the breaker off to the stove because the oven would not turn off! The bathrooms and fridge were clean and I did not see any bugs which was their only saving grace.

Choose another rental company in Emerald Isle. This one is done with helping you once they have your money. And since you pay in full weeks before you get to the beach- you will get no service if anything goes wrong at your vacation rental. In fact, the company feels you are a burden and a nuisance and treats you in this manner. Check Yelp. Check BBB.

In fact, check how they respond to complaints on BBB- you will know exactly how you will be treated. We stayed in Bees Knees. Cottage was filthy including blood on bathroom floor and vomit in another bathroom. The kitchen was disgusting. One of the doors would not lock at all- had a note taped to it that part was on back order. Air conditioner froze over second day we were there and didn't work rest of the week.

We had to beg for window units- they gave us 1 window unit. The company was unprofessional and unethical in how they handled issues. Mostly they blamed us for being needy and lied that they had fixed issues. Unfortunately, like I said they already have your money. Just don't use them. Check any site you can to research and find an alternate company to work with if you choose to go to Emerald Isle. I wish I had.

Sun Surf Realty did not stand behind their rental. We experienced many problems during part of our rental including no AC, no hot water, no electrical outlets in lower level of home with no offsets to the rental amount. We have successfully used Shoreline Realty and recommend them over Sun Surf!

The company is okay but their rentals not so much. We rented Four Seasons West, a real dump. Worn linoleum floor in kitchen, super cheap cabinets with missing door, painted plywood as back splashes around sink, no anything-no grill, toys, beach stuff all locked in garage, no corkscrew, missing blinds, plaster patches on walls, filthy couch and walls--need I go on? Sun-surf is guilty by association for renting such a dump and not allowing online ratings to warn future travelers. When contacted they sent cleaning crew which wiped off greasy vent and drawer and said they would ask owner if he would authorize carpet cleaning-no answer.
