I rarely leave reviews. And we often stay upstate at Air bnb spots. This is by far the worst rental we've ever stayed at. I'm sure during the summer months being right on the creek/waterfall is lovely. But we visited in the wintertime when it was too cold to enjoy the water. The house needs an update for the rate they charged us. $400+ a night over the weekend and a three night minimum.
There's no dishwasher which is fine but a warning that if you leave unwashed dishes out, rodents will come. The house is cold. Especially the kitchen. If you want to keep rodents away, you'll have to wash the dishes so bring extra layers so that you can be in the kitchen. We left one day early because being home was more comfortable. And we've never done that before.
The laundry machine is in the basement. The light was out so we had to use a flashlight and when we got down there the washer and dryer had bugs and dirt in the laundry cup and all along the outside of the machine. I wrote respectfully to the manager of the property that we were leaving because the night before was just too cold for us and have received no response to this day.
We've stayed at less expensive rentals that were far far more comfortable and were near good food and groceries. We also have friends that Airbnb their properties for a fraction of the rate and keep their properties immaculate and stocked with what a family needs. The best part of our stay was that they had a copy of the book Super Diaper Baby, which my toddler absolutely adored. That's the extent of what we got out of paying $1200 for what amounted to two night.
